Kori + Mitch | wedding

Kori and Mitch had beautiful weather, and a beautiful wedding to match. They were married at the First United Methodist Church in Mansfield, which is a special place for Kori. It's also a great church to shoot at - they understand the importance of having good wedding photos - and it's beautiful as well. The reception was at Victory Arts Center in Fort Worth, which is one of the coolest wedding venues we've ever been to. Take all that and add a wonderful, sweet, very in-love couple surrounded by great family and friends, and some fabulous details, and it was the perfect day!

Kori's mom helping with the dress:

Cute flowergirl:

Darek got to hear some interesting paramedic stories; a little different than the usual groomsmen pre-ceremony talk. I think this picture is funny because it looks like Mitch is giving a lecture:

Darek had a great vantage point for the ceremony and caught some wonderful emotion:

The light was beautiful when we arrived at Victory Arts Center, so of course we had to take advantage of it:

The details were wonderful:

Kori and Mitch had personalized caramel apples as favors - I thought this was such a cool and unique idea!

First dance:

We snuck out for a few cool night pictures:

One of the adorable ringbearers:

We caught Mitch's mom doing the Thriller dance:

I think this picture is funny; there's a lot going on:

They were sent off by super-extra-long sparklers!

Kori wanted a shot of the 4 bridesmaids spelling Love with sparklers, so we had a lot of fun getting this one. The "E" was definitely the hardest letter!

Kori and Mitch, congratulations! It was wonderful to be able to work with you guys!

Zack | senior

We did Zack's senior pictures around the Filter House at White Rock Lake, which was awesome! I'd never been over there before, but it's a really cool area. Zack wasn't crazy about having his pictures taken (like most guys in high school) but he was a good sport for us. Here are some of my favorites -

Mickey

Mickey's mom has a large print of his sister when she was younger, and wanted to have one of Mickey to match, so we journeyed down to the Arboretum to take some pictures. His sister Gracie got in for a few shots too. These kids are just adorable - super sweet and friendly, and very excited to take photos. We had a lot of fun!

This one probably won't make the big wall portrait, but I thought it was a cute picture of him playing around:

This one makes me laugh - you can just tell he's thinking "Come on; no pictures now - I just want to throw rocks!"

The big reward for taking pictures was getting to visit the pumpkin patch and house at the end:

And this last one was Mickey's suggestion; he wanted me to take a picture of this thing, and I thought it turned out pretty well! Good eye, Mickey!

The Champions | family

It was time for the annual photos with the Champions! This year we headed to downtown Grapevine to use the awesomeness that is their downtown area. The Champions all have fabulous personalities and are so much fun to take pictures of!

Kristen + Peter | wedding

Fun fact: Kristen found us through Stacey (whose wedding we did this summer) who found us through her friend Kristen (whose wedding we did last summer).  And to make it even more fun, my official legal name is Stacey Kristen. Awesome!

We always love when former clients pass along our names to their friends; not only does it mean people are happy with their wedding photographs and with how we did our job, but it usually instills a level of trust that is really nice to have. We only met Kristen and Peter about 2 months before their wedding, and we knew instantly that they would be awesome to work with. Kristen and Peter had a beautiful, intimate wedding at San Martino Winery in Rockwall surrounded by family and close friends. The weather was absolutely perfect, everything seemed to go smoothly, the day was full of smiles, and the party was full of fun!

Love love LOVE Kristen's dress. It was originally strapless, but she wanted something more "classic and timeless" so she had them take some of the extra fabric from the bottom and use it to make the cap sleeves. I think it's perfect:

Love the harpist:

They chose to have a close friend officiate the ceremony, which always makes it more personal:

Greeting guests after the ceremony:

The flowergirl, as the gum was trying to be removed:

The vineyard behind the winery made a perfect backdrop for pictures:

Aww...

Some details around the winery:

A friend made the cake, and it was beautiful:

The arm-link-toasting-thing is always harder than it looks:

Some night-portrait fun:

First dance:

The flowergirl was on the dance floor ALL NIGHT. Literally. I've never seen a flowergirl stay on the dance floor that long!

The ringbearer getting a little sleepy:

The dolls made random appearances throughout the evening - too funny:

A hug from dad:

The last dance of the night:

Kristen & Peter, thank you so much for choosing us to capture your day! Everything was just beautiful!

Katy | senior

We had a fun afternoon with Katy taking her senior pictures in Grapevine. We explored the Botanical Gardens and the train area downtown and had a great session!

Shannon + Toby | wedding

Shannon found us through Blaine and Wade, whose wedding we did last September. We got to make a trip down to New Braunfels to document Shannon & Toby's big day. Shannon did a wonderful job keeping me posted with all the details in the months leading up to the wedding, so even though we never met until the rehearsal, I had a pretty good feeling for their personalities and what they liked. They had some really fun touches in their wedding (like feathers!) and everyone seemed to have a blast!

The wedding was at the Faith Lutheran Church in Seguin, and we got to hang the dress up in front of the cool windows:

Shannon and her mom share a moment:

She asked for a show of hands to see how many people knew what Toby's gift to her was:

I think she was pleased:

It was a custom-made saddle with her new name on it:

The super cute flowergirl:

Finishing touches:

Toby's prep is a little simpler:

Writing a note to Shannon:

The flowergirl didn't want to go down the aisle, but then turned and ran; I think she remembered the M&Ms she was promised:

Shannon's mom watched Toby's face as Shannon came down the aisle:

The flowergirl got bored:

Woo hoo!

Enjoying a moment after the ceremony:

Reception details at the New Braunfels Civic Center:

Dancing:

Singing "Family Tradition" at the end of the night:

Shannon had a cool idea for their exit - everyone threw popcorn! Much less painful than birdseed. :D

Shannon & Toby, thanks so much for bringing us to New Braufels to photograph your wedding!

Jaime + Mike | wedding (part 2)

Jaime and Mike got married in just about the coolest place ever - Sodo Park in downtown Seattle. It was just perfect for their wedding, and all of their details and personal touches make it even more amazing. Everything seemed to go smoothly, and they threw a great party! We just loved being a part of their wedding day, and we're so glad they had us come all the way up to Seattle to capture it!

All of the details were wonderful:

An overall of the ceremony:

We took advantage of the light to get a few more pictures outside immediately after the ceremony:

Some of the amazing reception details:

They used one of their engagement pictures for the back of their program:

First dance:

We snuck off for a few night portraits while the guests were eating dinner:

The toasts were great:

The party was tons of fun; they had the most awesome DJ and he kept the dance floor full all night:

Jaime & Mike, congratulations! We can't even tell you how thrilled we were to be able to capture your day!

Jaime + Mike | wedding (part 1)

Wow! I'm not really sure where to begin with this wedding - there was just so much awesomeness. For starters, it was in Seattle!! We've been super excited for Jaime & Mike's wedding for a long time, especially after we got to meet them back in March where we found out how cool they are, and got to take their engagement pictures around Seattle. The weather that day was rainy and cold, but they had the complete opposite weather for their wedding day - sunny, warm, and absolutely beautiful.

Jaime and Mike put a high priority on photography, and scheduled plenty of time to make sure we got tons of great pictures. We literally spent the whole day with them. They had a First Look on the roof of the hotel where everybody got ready, and from there we all got into a huge Hummer limo and drove around downtown Seattle to take lots of cool pictures with the wedding party. The day was just perfect - relaxed, happy, fun, and full of fabulous details. We ended up with so many awesome pictures that there are too many for one blog post! Today we'll be sharing the "getting ready" and bridal party pictures, and we'll be back soon with the pictures from the ceremony and reception. Jaime & Mike, we hope you're having the best time in Italy!

Jaime's dress was perfect:

The bouquets:

Jaime and her mom:

The flowergirl was just way too cute:

Watching Jaime getting her hair done:

Full coverage!

Jaime gets her turn in the make-up chair:

Jaime's sister's turn:

This picture makes me laugh; I feel the exact same way about pantyhose!

Mike getting ready:

They wrote letters to each other and read them before seeing each other:

Mike wrote Jaime's new last name on her card:

There's a moment when the veil goes on, and everything suddenly comes together, and this is that moment:

Time for flowers:

They had their very sweet First Look on the roof of the hotel with Seattle in the background:

We started off at Kerry Park for some "formal" shots with the Seattle skyline in the background:

Then it was off to Pioneer Square for more fun shots:

And then it was on to the venue where the wedding took place, Sodo Park:

Check back soon for the rest of the wedding pictures! Lots more to come!
