I just realized that in all the craziness of the last few months, I never posted Kimberly's bridal session! We did her portraits at the beautiful Dallas Baptist University and had a perfect day.

Williamsons | family

Miranda decided it would be a great idea to give her parents the gift of family photos as a Christmas gift - which I think has definitely got to be one of the best Christmas presents ever! They told me that they hadn't done family pictures since Miranda was a baby, so it was definitely time. Miranda just got her letter jacket, so we did a few senior portraits as well. We went to Addison Circle, and even though it was pretty dang cold, it was still a nice morning and we had a lot of fun!

Maury | senior

Maury decided to do her senior portraits at one of my favorite locations - downtown McKinney. Unfortunately we weren't thinking about it being the Saturday before Christmas, so parking was a challenge, but fortunately once we got off the main streets we found plenty of perfect spots. Plus, we had gorgeous weather for December!

Maury is following in the family footsteps (A LOT of footsteps!) to attend A&M next year and she wants to major in animal science to become a vet. We had such a great afternoon with her and her mom (and her super cute dog Maddie)!

Amanda | bridal

We had so much fun at Amanda's bridal session; she loves to read, so we did most of the photos at a used bookstore in Denton. I especially love any session that involves a Harry Potter book! Now that she's married we finally get to share them:

Kimberly + Carlos | wedding

I know I'm not really supposed to have favorites, but I have to say that Fall weddings are my favorite ones. I just love the Fall colors and cool (or at least not-as-hot) weather. Kimberly and Carlos did a wonderful job incorporating those Fall colors into their wedding - which was awesome in every way. In addition to the great decorations, amazing flowers, unbelievably gorgeous dress and veil, and beautiful location at Dallas Baptist University, it was a touching day full of sweet moments. Kimberly and Carlos are obviously very much in love, and some of the sweetest people ever. All of their family and friends are super nice too, and it was a perfect day. They had an adorable First Look which set the tone for a relaxed and touching day.

Stephanie + Jairo | engagement

Stephanie and Jairo have known each other since middle school, but didn't like each other back then. Luckily everything worked out for them and now they're planning an awesome wedding next October! They were so much fun to work with and we had an amazing session. They first talked about getting married when they were in Venice, so they liked the idea of doing some of their engagement photos at the canals. Then we headed to a nearby park for a cool hill and some beautiful Fall colors. We even lucked out with some of the most beautiful light I've ever been fortunate enough to shoot in.

Amanda + Alex | wedding

I've really had a wonderful time getting to know Amanda and Alex; they're both really sweet and easy-going. Amanda is just so incredibly friendly; she talks to everybody and is really fun to be around. We even have something cool in common - we both have 3 younger sisters. We had tons of fun at the engagement & bridal sessions, and the wedding was awesome too. They had a sunset ceremony in the gardens at Reflections on Spring Creek in Plano, and they did a First Look so we were able to get most of the pictures done before the ceremony, while we still had really nice light. Everything was beautiful; they did the flowers themselves, her mom made the bridesmaid dresses, and her sister made the cake.

Parker + Jared | engagement

We are so excited for Parker & Jared's wedding - they're getting married on the Denton square in May (awesome!). Two of their favorite things are also some of my favorite things: reading and being outside. I loved their location and choice of props that they brought along, which are things that are special to them. I had a nearly impossible time narrowing them down for the blog!

Natalie + Mel | engagement

I think it's great when couples choose locations that have special meanings to them for their engagement portraits. Natalie and Mel met at the Red River Dance Hall, and then got engaged at the Arboretum - so we went to both. They're so much fun and I'm very much looking forward to their wedding in April!

We had fun doing Emily and Elli's yearly photos. It kept trying to rain, but we won!

Lucy | senior

It's been quite a year for making me feel old! First my youngest sister gets married, now my youngest cousin is a senior in high school! Not to mention her older sister graduating from college this year. I remember when Lucy was born (when I told her that, her response was "that's weird.") Ha ha. I just can't believe she is a senior, and such a grown-up one at that. Our families have always been very close and I was so excited to get to do Lucy's senior photos in Abilene. Lucy is so sweet and so much fun and we share a love for the Harry Potter series, so she's extra cool in my book (no pun intended)!

Christina + Tim | love

Christina and Tim recently celebrated their 5 year wedding anniversary and wanted to have some pictures taken of the 2 of them. I got to meet Christina about a year ago; she and Tim are actually both photographers (shutterspire.com) and I was excited when she asked me about doing a photo session for them. They're both really sweet and fun and we had a wonderful morning taking photos downtown!

Ashley + Jared | engagement

Ashley and Jared are just incredibly sweet and totally laid-back, and we had so much fun at their engagement session! They completely trusted me and even let me pick out locations. We started off at the church where they'll be getting married next May, then went over to Sundance Square and the Stockyards.

We did Laura's bridals at the Ashton Hotel in downtown Fort Worth. She was such a beautiful bride and now that the wedding has happened we get to share the bridal photos.

Libby | senior

Even though it was one of the hottest days of the year, we had such a great time doing Libby's senior portraits. She's incredibly sweet and very mature, and was a much better sport about the heat than I was! Plus, her outfits were all awesome. She'll be following in the family footsteps to attend A&M after her senior year.

Laura + Patrick | wedding

Laura and Patrick's wedding was not only beautiful and happy and fun and all of that, but it was full of wonderful people. All of the wedding party, friends, and family were totally sweet and fun, and it was a perfect day.

Amanda + Alex | engagement

The weather was a miserable 100-something degrees for this session, but we were lucky to have such a cool couple. Amanda and Alex are fun & friendly and have an adorable dog, Rio, who joined us for a few shots. We went to Haggard Park in downtown Plano and even got to go inside the old train, which was the hottest place I've ever been in my entire life. We had so much fun though! Fortunately it'll be much cooler for their outdoor wedding at the end of October!

Kimberly and Carlos are some of the sweetest people I've ever met - we had such a great time doing their engagement pictures. We even had a pretty nice day at the canals, considering how hot it's been lately. They'll be getting married in November and we're looking forward to it!

Heather | rock the dress

A few days after her wedding, we went down to the beach at Makapu'u Point to do a "rock the dress" session with Heather. It was awesome!

Janaye | bridal

I can't believe my littlest sister is married!! I have 3 younger sisters and Janaye is the youngest - for some reason it's just extra surreal when the "baby" of the family gets married. Janaye and Brady had an amazing wedding this past weekend at his grandfather's farm. I'll be sharing some pictures soon, but for now here are some of her bridal portraits. We started off at the Chandor Gardens in Weatherford and then raced the setting sun to a field.

Heather + Daniel | wedding

Those of you who haven't met Heather are totally missing out. She's sweet and awesome and fun, and cracks me up on a regular basis. Over the course of the past couple of years while she's been assisting us at weddings, we've become good friends. So we were psyched to have the chance to shoot her wedding in Hawaii! And of course we like Daniel too - and they're perfect together.

The ceremony was on the island of Oahu, on the beach featured in the old movie "From Here to Eternity," with the Halona Blowhole shooting water into the sky in the distance. If that's not a romantic location for a wedding, I don't know what is. Of course it was absolutely gorgeous, and when all of Heather's details were added it was completely perfect.

We did Rachel's bridal portraits at her parents' house, which was not only gorgeous but also made it much more special for Rachel. Now that she's married we get to show them on the blog!

Heather + Daniel | engagement

A lot of you already know Heather - she's been our fabulous, amazing assistant for the past 2 years. She and Daniel are getting married NEXT WEEK - in HAWAII!! Lucky. We're lucky too though, because we get to go there too to shoot the wedding. So excited! We went up to Denton a few weeks ago to do Heather & Daniel's engagement pictures. They brought their bikes for some extra fun and we took pictures until after the sun went down. We can't wait for the wedding - and that's an understatement.

Laura + Patrick | engagement

Laura and Patrick lucked out and managed to get the last day of Spring for their engagement session. We went down to the Highland Park area and had a perfect day, which made up for raining out their first session time. We can tell these two have a lot of fun together - it's going to be a great wedding!

Shana + Hayes | engagement

Shana and Hayes are getting married exactly one year from the day we did their engagement photos. They have a really cool story - they met while working in Wisconsin and knew very quickly that they were perfect for each other. Hayes moved back to Texas and after doing the long-distance relationship thing (always tough!) for awhile, he proposed at their favorite karaoke bar and Shana moved down to Texas as well. So sweet! We had a great time getting to know them and we're excited for the wedding!

Rachel + Caleb | wedding

Rachel and Caleb's wedding was absolutely beautiful. They had originally planned to get married outside at the Hilton Bella Harbor, but although the threat of rain pushed the ceremony inside, the back-up location was still gorgeous. It's not often we have a view of a lighthouse during a wedding. Rachel and Caleb are both incredibly sweet and were awesome to work with, and they had the kinds of friends and family members that made us feel like we were part of the gang. Caleb's mom is a florist and did an amazing job with the flowers; we see a lot of flowers, and these were definitely some of the best. The party was awesome, and I can't remember many weddings that had such a full dance floor at midnight!

After an arts festival canceled our original plans to take Tiffanie & James' pictures at Sundance Square, we headed over to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. That was cool though because it's such a beautiful place - not a bad back-up at all! We had a great time with Tiffanie and James and we're so glad we got the chance to do their engagement photos!

Kori | bridal

As I was designing Kori's wedding album I realized I never blogged her bridals! We did them at Chandor Gardens in Weatherford. It was a bit of a drive but totally worth it - it's a gorgeous location. Kori and her mom were both totally laid-back and fun to work with, and we had an awesome session. I have a ton of favorites so it was hard to narrow it down!

Janaye + Brady | engagement

We've been anticipating this shoot for awhile - Janaye is my youngest sister (I have 3) and we're so excited that she and Brady are getting married! It does make me feel a little bit old, now that my "baby sister" is getting married, but we all think Brady is awesome so we're pretty psyched. They met in the toothbrush aisle of a grocery store, and that's where Brady proposed - in the same toothbrush aisle, lined with candles. Super cute! They're getting married on his grandfather's farm in June and it's shaping up to be an awesome wedding (of course, I'm a little biased). As you can see, I had a hard time narrowing down my favorite engagement pictures, but that's what happens when you go to 3 and 1/2 locations and it's your sister!
